SOUL GALLEN - The Return of the Rec-O-Gnizer
mit The Rec-O-Gnizer.
Das Gerät wird die Labels der gerade gespielten Platten in Echtzeit
auf die Leinwand projizieren. Dabei zu sehen ist der Track und das
Artwork mit Stickern, Flecken und persönlichen Notizen und somit die
eigene Geschichte jeder Platte.
Ausserdem freut es uns sehr mit Monsieur Delmotte einen langjährigen Sammler
von Northern Soul und Popcorn begrüssen zu dürfen.
Er war so nett und hat mir ein paar Fragen zu seinem musikalischen Werdegang beantwortet.

What's your name?
Jean Delmotte a/k/a DJ Jean Grooveoldies
My story begins in 1970 in Ostende, Belgium when a friend introduced me to this new sound - Soul,
and artists like: Willie Mitchell, Ramsey Lewis, Robert Parker....
Then I went to the club "The Groove" in Ostende and I discovered a version of soul music,
whose mid-tempo songs is now known as the
„Popcorn" style of Belgium.
But i really was influenced by R & B and the up-tempo
„Northern Soul“ played in England,
that’s when i started collecting records.
Then I started to play records in Wallonia, Brussels etc …
& i became known as DJ Jean Grooveoldies, because I am very groovy.
